 The UFG Green Committee
The UFG Green Committee was launched early in 2008 and is comprised of 3 sub-committee’s, Education, Recycling & Energy.

Some of our accomplishments/improvements during 2008 & 2009 include:
- Installation of solar powered hot water heaters.
- Installation of digital air conditioning thermostats throughout the building, allowing us to automatically set on & off times for evenings, holidays & weekends.
- Launching of our aluminum/glass/plastic recycling program.
- A monthly e-newsletter with articles about going green.
- An employee carpooling initiative.
- Launch our card board recycling initiative.
- Publish industry specific eco-friendly recommendations for our franchisee’s.
Some of our accomplishments/improvements during 2010 include:
- Examine e-fax options along with scanning/emailing solutions to eliminate paper faxes.
- Research hand driers versus paper towels in restrooms.
- Research hybrid fleet vehicles.
- Determine eco-friendly criteria for our vendors.
- Give an educational spotlight at each quarterly meeting & recognize those participating in the active programs.
- Research the best eco-friendly products to use in the kitchen & restrooms.
- Host a “Green Booth” at expo showcasing ideas, programs & projects.
